Maharashtra Schools aim to finish Aadhaar Enrollments by End of this Month

Nagpur: Education State Department ensure that students enrollment for Aadhaar Card will be completed by end of this month.

A Senior Education official told “The work is almost complete. Probably, minute number is left which will be done by the end of this month. The bigger challenge¬† at present is to complete the verification process. We have noticed mismatch data between school records and Aadhaar card, so that is being restore.”

Further official said that 70 Lakh  students verification is done out of 2.20 Crore .Atlast but not the least he said that remaining will also be done soon.

The Aadhaar card number will be linked with student’s admission registration number so as to easily track the child in the education system .

Government ensures that the Right to Education Act (RTE ) is implemented properly.

Linking of Aadhar card , also known as Unique Identification (UID ), with students . Aadhar card will help government to verify whether students are enrolled in schools or not.

Since last year the education department has been walking on the gas for its ‘School Students Aadhar Card Campaign’ (SSACC).

Last year from April to May, group education officers starts collecting information from various schools in taluka. The information achieved was specifically about those students who don’t have an Aadhaar card. Then schools and education officials planned out a deadline to complete the registrations on time but logistical challenges kept on proving to be obstacles. The department has now finally to give it a last push and get the large projected completed on time.

A principal told TOI that schools have been informed that if by September all their students do not have an Aadhaar card, then the school will imposed penalty. The principal said, “Staff hiring and section approvals will also be put on hold till we complete the task. “
