Income Tax Department Launches Facility To Correct PAN, Aadhaar Card Errors
Alongside the center to connect biometric identifier Aadhaar with PAN, the section has also placed two separate links on its e-filing website one to upgrade changes in existing PAN data or for a program of new PAN by an Indian or an overseas citizen and Aadhaar Card Errors.
The second hyperlink is for individuals who want to Update Aadhaar details by logging into ‘Aadhaar Self Service Update Portal’ with the exceptional identity number. The individual may then upload scanned documents as evidence for information update request.
More than 1.22 crore assessees already have Aadhaar-linked PAN but the amount is abysmally low as there are more than 25 crore PAN card holders in the nation, while Aadhaar has been issued to 111 crore people.
